What Santa Left

So I was a dork and left my camera in my sister in law car. I felt bad cause when the kids woke up and ran down stairs to see what was left and I went to reach for my camera, I then realized where I had left it. Well we had a great Christmas and everyone came over and we had a great time.
Desiree: DS (pink)
a mountain bike
clothes
crafty things
and lots of gift cards
jewelry
boots
Phillip: DS (black)
a mountain bike
Ed Hardy shirts
skateboard
gift cards
toys
a art set
I got a new ring. A while back I was upset with my hubby and I got mad and threw it at him and lets say it was never to be seen again. So he knew that he had to get me another one. I love it, of course I had to go with him to pick it out and make sure that it was the right size and one that I would wear.
All in all we had a great Christmas. We were surrounded by loved ones and we talked all night. It was great to be back in Vegas where we belong.

In Vegas Really !!!

So this is what we woke up to on Thursday morning. We had the most wonderful snowstorm ever. I think that we did. You see it never sticks on our side of town. Everyone on the South West or North West get all the snow. I was talking with my friend Marian and she telling me that her kids are making snowmen, I was just wanting it to stick. Well then it is almost time for the kids to get home from school and I go outside hoping that they are getting a ride home from the neighbors and low behold there is snow everywhere.
Phillip woke me up early on Thursday cause the had a SNOWDAY, really in Vegas a SNOWDAY. I went outside and took pictures of Sunrise Mountain, cause that is one mountain that never gets any. We decided to take a ride around and drove up to the Temple and we saw this wonderful sight.

This is what it looked like when we woke up I think that this is one beautiful picture.

We were being silly and I wanted to get a picture of us in the snow. After Desiree's concert was cancelled we decided to go to the park next to the school and play in it.
Just look at all the pretty snow. I know that we didn't get alot of it not like other parts of town. We got about 2.5 inches in our part and Henderson got 8 inches and Mt. Charleston got 11 inches can you believe it, it still looks great today.
Phil was making snow angels, he knew that his chances for ever making another one near the house with out going up to the mountains was slim.

Dear Santa....

Well the kids have been busy with their Christmas list. They usually change it about 20 times before they settle with what they really want. So last night after doing homework, eating dinner and showers. i had them write their final choices to Santa. They both looked at me like I was crazy. Des was the first to pipe up and say, um hello we are 11 here. The boy was next to say yea mom. I looked at them both and was about to cry and realized that my babies are no longer babies. I still had them do it. I told them both that they will write letters until they are 18 and out of my house. They started laughing and so did Chris. He told me to let them go and eventually they are going to grow up.

This has to be one of the hardest Holidays for parents. Realizing that when you go from buying Preschool toys to buying gift cards cause that is what they ask for, so they can buy what they want. So with this last bit of information to our friends and families. We love everyone and we wish everyone a Merry and Happy Christmas!

Merry Christmas

I decided that this year I would make Christmas cards and send them out. Hopefully everyone got the ones I sent out. I took the kids up to the Temple and they had a great time being there. We took a couple of different pictures. We settled on the second one. Des loved the way it looks with the background. We all had a great time being there, I think next time we go I just might join the fun and take a couple of pictures with them. We wish everyone a Merry and safe Holiday.

My Phone

Okay, this is my phone. I love this phone. It has a great memory for my pictures and music. It also serves as a MP3 player which is why I got it in the first place. I had to replace this phone once before. While living in Texas, I was sitting around the fountain at work and got up not realizing that my phone was in my lap got up and it fell in.
Well I replaced it and things were going great. Until about a month ago. My phone at every chance is trying to commit suicide. It had fallen on the tile floor breaking into all parts. I bring it back to life and a couple of days later same thing. This time I didn't think that it was going to make it. Chris told me just to forget it and get another one. I told him to forget it. This phone and I have great memories and special times.(I know that it is just a phone)Well I get it all better. It lasted a couple of weeks. The thing now is that I drop alot of calls. I thought about getting a new one, but I have alot of ring tones and call tones on this one and they don't transfer over to a new phone. See the dilemma.
Well this past weekend. We cleaned the pool out. It was drained and Chris and his friend Jason were wrapping the hose up and I was sitting on the edge of the pool just see how it looked empty. I get up cause I am in the way, well my phone was in the pocket of my jacket. I don't know what happened. Next thing I see is my phone at the bottom of the pool. Luckily there was no water in it, just in the middle where the pump couldn't get to. So I go around to the steps and get in. Trying to see if I could save my phone. I really thought that this was the end. Every thing had popped out and Chris said that it had finally succeeded. I refused to believe it. So I bring inside and hope for the best.....
Well it WORKS!!!!! I was so happy. I am seriously thinking about duct taping some parts, but I know that is a little ghetto. This is for you my little phone that I LOVE so much.

New Hair Cuts

OK so here is the before picture. I loved his hair. It was so long and I loved playing with it when he and I were sitting on the couch watching TV. I finally made the decision to cut it after some subtle chit chat with our Bishop about Phil's hair getting longer. In a about half a year Phil will be passing the Sacrament and needs to look like a wholesome boy.

Here is a shot getting it cut. After she took the first chunk, I was having second thoughts. I know that it needed to be done. He hated waking up and me having to do it for him. If it was up to him he would go to school with bed head.

Here is the after shot. Boy was he mad. He had tears when we were sitting there waiting for Des to get her hair done. He still has phantom hair. He will throw his head back to get the hair out of his eyes, but there is nothing there. I truly feel bad and I told him that we will never cut it again.

Here she is getting hers done. I did have a before picture, but I wanted to save her from embarrassment. They had just woken up and she really had BED HEAD. Their hair appt. was at 8 in the morning, so they were not up to getting anything done but sleeping.

Here is the after shot of her. She looks happy. I was telling Chris that Phil was happy in the morning and she was not. But you can see from the later pics, that he is mad and she is happy. I have to still get use to Phil's hair short, he looks good. But he looks older now. I wish that my babies would stay babies forever.

New Landscaping

Well it got done today. The landscapers were here at 7:30 this morning and boy they are fast. In the previous pictures you could see the dead grass and how awful it looked. Phil was quite startled seeing all the Mexicans. He came rushing into our room to inform of this.

Here are my pretty rose bushes only one has bloomed though. I love the yellow roses. Those guys were very good. They were quick and clean. For a while there I was scared. It was sure a mess but look how nice it is now.

This is where a tree is going. I am having 2 more fruit trees put up. An orange and another peach are going up. They are coming back tomorrow again in the morning to get it done.

Well here are the kiddies. This was taken on their first day of school here. Phil's hair is way longer and Des is black instead of light brown. I love these two, they make my life worth living everyday. They love each other for about 10 min. in a day, but he is very protective of her and will not let any of his friends get near her or say anything about her. He even watches what she wears to make sure it is not to short or show to much skin. These two are my greatest blessing.

Our New HOME !!!

This is our new house. Its on 6053 Wild Berry Dr. I love this house, I know that the grass needs to be done, but we are getting rocks put in. They should be here next week to get it done. I have 3 rose bushes, a peach tree, apple tree, orange tree and a Mexican pepper plant. That is the one thing that I am constantly taking care of is the garden. The kiddies love helping with it.
This is the front living room. I have all my stuff in here. I put up my pictures and my church pictures and stuff in here. I love having my own living room, but some how Chris always ends up with us in ours.
This is the kitchen from my living room. I love all the counter space. It has granite counter tops (loving it). It has tile throughout the whole house. I am a fan for anything but carpet, but let me tell you I hate having to sweep everyday. I bought a swifer broom and mop, but I go through 2 just doing the downstairs. Plus now that it is getting colder we all have to wear slippers.
Here is my double oven, I love this thing. This is why Thanksgiving is being held at our house. Chris's mom said that we have more counter space and 2 ovens so we win, but I don't think that I am really winning anything here. Also on this day I know that football is going to be on, on all the TVs. The one in the front living room (Chris's) and the back (mine).
These are the stairs that lead to the upper part, I would've taken pictures, but I still have boxes everywhere. Plus here is the door that leads to the gnomes. We joke around with the kids that this is the gnome closet. I have that thing packed all the way up. You never know how much stuff one can acquire until you move.
Here is the front living room, I know that it's kinda dark but that is why I hate this room. I have a BIG picture window that lets in so much light. This is where Chris is suppose to stay, but I think that he gets lonely and always hears us laughing and wants to come and join the fun. Sometimes the kids don't let him, cause he like to change the show on them.
Finally here is the pool. We love this thing. It is getting cleaned this weekend. They are going to drain it and fill it back up and get it all pretty and stuff. So this is what has been going on in our lives. I know that I have gotten a little behind, but I just barely got the computer unpacked and had the Internet installed. Thanks Alexis for getting me on the ball. I am going to be doing a little better at keeping up at least once a week or so.

New Kids on the Block

Well what can one say about this group. I just love them. I remember going to see them when I was 12. I was so in love with them and I am so excited that they are touring again!!!! I know I am so lame, but I truly love this group.
When we were living in Austin, me and my friend Melissa were going to see them in San Antonio, but I moved and they are coming here on Saturday. I am sad to say though, I will not be going to the concert. I had to make a decision on what I wanted more, tickets to the show or a house to move into. So everyone knows I picked the house. Here is the catcher though. I have a myspace account and I have some of the clubs here in Vegas as my friends so when I feel like going out and dancing I just email them so I can get on the VIP list.
So here is the greatest news, the new club LAX(last known as RA) inside the Luxor, is hosting the after party and they are going to be performing a little show. So I put myself on the VIP list along with Chris and our friends. So not all hope is lost about not being able to attend the show. I think that this is better, cause at the club I can dance and listen to the greatest group.

Long Time Coming

So I know that it has been a while since I last posted anything. I have been terribly busy. I will kinda go in order of what had been happening to us since I last posted.
1. Decided we were definitely moving back to Las Vegas.
2. Started packing our stuff(got it done in 3 days)
3. Decided on the day we were leaving the 26th of Aug.
But with our luck nothing ever seems to go the way we want. We ended up leaving like the 31st. Chris had some school stuff that he needed to take care of before we left and he needed to be there for that.
4. Finally got the truck, loaded everything up and took off the next day. My Ward was wanting to help, but Chris and I along with the kiddies and friends we got it done quick.
5. We arrived in Vegas on the 1st of Sep. got the kiddies all registered for Middle School. They ended up starting on the 3 of the month. They are both doing amazing. We were kinda worried about Phil going back into a public school, but he is doing great.
We started going to our old Ward, cause we just love everybody there SO much. But here is the best news of all...... We are moving into a house that has, wait for it.............A POOL!!!!!!!!
We are all stinkin excited. The kids and I have already said that we will be in the pool until it is to cold. The weather is perfect for this wonderful thing. It has 4 rooms and a nice covered patio. Alexis and Kris you guys need to come and visit and bring the kiddies.
To all our friends and family everyone is WELCOMED. We love being surrounded with everyone.

From to Cub Scout to Boy Scout

Well it is official. My baby is no longer a Cub Scout. On Wednesday he received his Boy Scout badge. Though he has not yet received his Webelos or Arrow of Light. He did earn them, but the day they were to have the ceremony we had a BAD thunderstorm. So since we are moving they are have the ceremony on Wednesday for him so that way he can have them before we head on out to VEGAS!!!!!
I feel bad, on Wednesday I took my camera and I was all set to have wonderful pictures. But my battery died on my friend as she was taking our picture. But have no fear on this Wednesday I will have a charged battery and be set for the other badges. The new Scout Master did not realize that I had a mothers keepsake necklace for the pins, so they bought me a new one. I am truly going to miss my new Ward. Phillip enjoys Boys Scouts and all the wonderful actives that they have done. I have assured him though that he will be back with all his old friends and enjoying it once again.

I Would Like to Introduce.......

Peaches

This is the newest member of our little family. My sister bought her for Phillip for his birthday. She is a Lionhead Rabbit. She is so cute and we love her. Phillip decided to name her Peaches cause she is so sweet and cute. We went to Petsmart to get her a cage, food and everything else. While there I saw this cute bag that is for small dogs but I am going to buy it so I can take her every where with me. We got this leash for her and I was walking her outside today when a guy saw me and had not seen her yet but her leash and said it was cute and came over to see what kind of dog I had, but to his surprise it was PEACHES. He stood there looking at me and wondering why was I walking a bunny. But I dont care about what anybody thinks she is so stinkin CUTE!

The Water Park

So I thought that I was being a good mother and taking my kiddies to the water park. I thought that they were tired of going to the pool and maybe wanted to try something different. Boy was I wrong. They may look like they were having fun, but we were only there for about 20 min. and I am being generous with the time. Phillip is trying to hold Desiree in the water, but she is having none of it.
Here the boy is all alone. I think that at this point Des is slowly wondering to where I am. Phillip did have a good time for a bit. I think that if they had some friends with them it might have been another story.
As you can see from the look that she is giving, she wants to be somewhere else. The water park is the same place that where we go walking. Phillip has on many occasions expressed how much he wanted to go to this park.
He let me take this one, but all the while saying can we hurry up and leave. By this time Des is already sitting with me.
So now I have learned my lesson and not taking upon myself to do something nice. We get in the car and I tell them that I was trying to do something different. They both said "Why couldn't you take to some place with a pool water park, this place is for babies".So now we are planning Phillip's 11th birthday party. We had thought about maybe renting a party boat and going out to Lake Travis, but the kid doesn't want it. I have tried explaining to him that these parties are for us and for us to invite our friends. He wasn't having any of it. But he did make up his mind and we are going to Fiesta Texas. They have both a water park and amusement park. I think some how that this is going to cost us more than the party boat....

My Music

I am so sorry about my music. They are having a problem with a couple of songs and unfortunately some of the songs are ones that I have. Some of them work, so just sit back, relax and listen to some music. Here is the thing, sometimes it plays all the music then it won't.
This thing is driving me crazy. So if you happen to be looking at the blog, all the songs may play or they may decide to be tempermental. Either way I love all these songs. My favorite is "Return to Pooh Corner", I love this song. I remeber playing it for Phillip when he was a baby. His baby theme was Classic Pooh. Oh how I miss him being a baby. NOw I have a 19(soon to be 20)yr. old and two 11 yr.olds. But I love them all with all my heart.

Desiree's 5th Grade Recognition

Well this one of the saddest days in my life. One of my babies is moving on to Middle School. Well actually both of them will be going on to Middle School, but one of them is home schooled(Phillip). We are so proud of Des, she was recognized for being a Eagle Pride student, student of the month and for being commended on her TASK test. I love her so much. I took this picture right before school. Her last day of Elementary. I did this thing where I would take the kids picture of their first day and last day. I have one of Nicole on her first day of her Senior year at Vegas High and one of Phillip at his first day at Goldfarb. We really miss those schools. Here Des is getting her certificate from her teacher Ms. Guerra and principal Ms. Patterson. I know its blurry, Phillip was helping and taking some pictures.

Here are the principals of the two Middle Schools that the kids from Forest North go two. My babies are not going to either one. If we stay they will go to Leander ISD or if we go back to Harney Middle School.

I thought I would throw this picture in. I cried so much this day. We didn't think that we were going to make it. I am so proud of this girl. She is my baby. She did two years of High School in one year. Nicole was the first one of our kids to graduate and now I look forward to Phillip and Des graduating. I know that will be even harder, knowing that they are all gone and I have to be home alone with Chris.(Just kidding)

I felt bad for Phil as we got to the school to watch Des and he saw some of his old friends. I asked him if he was ok with not having a graduation and being there with his old class and friends. He turned and looked at me so serious and said "I don't care about any of those things, I learned more at being home and I was away from HER(Ms. McKenzie)". Even so, I decided that he would get a little celebration of his own. He has to do a little more work, since he came into home schooling a little late. He will be done at the end of June. He is doing so much better. I know that next year may be a little difficult and some getting use to but he is ready to go.

Just Add WATER!!!!!!!!!

Just add water.. Who ever made that up is a genius. This package is the best thing ever made. You just add water and knead the dough and roll the tortillas out. It has the directions on the back and no more guessing how much water, salt, shortening, and baking powder. I love this stuff. I could never find it in Vegas. I remember Rose(mother) having a big tub of this stuff. She made me learn how to make them when I was 16, saying that one day I will marry a Hispanic and he will want home made tortillas. And I still regret the day I ever told Chris that I knew how to make them. But with this stuff I don't mind making them.

Here are some that are rolled up and rolled out. I love my rolling pin. It is kinda like a granite kind I love it.

Here are some more rolled out. I usually try to make about a dozen or so, that way we can have some for leftovers. But with Chris always stealing one, usually the first one and putting butter on it. So we are lucky if we have about 4 to 6 the next day.

Here is my rolling pin and towel where I put them when I'm done. I really need to get a warmer. Maybe I will get one when we go to San Antonio. I also need to pick up a griddle. Chris got me one for mother's day, but that thing is a pain trying to season it.

And finally the end result. Yes I know that my stove is dirty. Chris was making dinner and he usually gets everything dirty. He also feels that he must use all the pans. So if any of you want a package of this WONDERFUL stuff just let me know and on its way it will go.
