In Vegas Really !!!
So this is what we woke up to on Thursday morning. We had the most wonderful snowstorm ever. I think that we did. You see it never sticks on our side of town. Everyone on the South West or North West get all the snow. I was talking with my friend Marian and she telling me that her kids are making snowmen, I was just wanting it to stick. Well then it is almost time for the kids to get home from school and I go outside hoping that they are getting a ride home from the neighbors and low behold there is snow everywhere.
Phillip woke me up early on Thursday cause the had a SNOWDAY, really in Vegas a SNOWDAY. I went outside and took pictures of Sunrise Mountain, cause that is one mountain that never gets any. We decided to take a ride around and drove up to the Temple and we saw this wonderful sight.
This is what it looked like when we woke up I think that this is one beautiful picture.
We were being silly and I wanted to get a picture of us in the snow. After Desiree's concert was cancelled we decided to go to the park next to the school and play in it.Posted by Laura-Phillip at 3:56 PM

My Phone
Okay, this is my phone. I love this phone. It has a great memory for my pictures and music. It also serves as a MP3 player which is why I got it in the first place. I had to replace this phone once before. While living in Texas, I was sitting around the fountain at work and got up not realizing that my phone was in my lap got up and it fell in. New Hair Cuts

Here is a shot getting it cut. After she took the first chunk, I was having second thoughts. I know that it needed to be done. He hated waking up and me having to do it for him. If it was up to him he would go to school with bed head.
Here is the after shot. Boy was he mad. He had tears when we were sitting there waiting for Des to get her hair done. He still has phantom hair. He will throw his head back to get the hair out of his eyes, but there is nothing there. I truly feel bad and I told him that we will never cut it again.
Here she is getting hers done. I did have a before picture, but I wanted to save her from embarrassment. They had just woken up and she really had BED HEAD. Their hair appt. was at 8 in the morning, so they were not up to getting anything done but sleeping.
Here is the after shot of her. She looks happy. I was telling Chris that Phil was happy in the morning and she was not. But you can see from the later pics, that he is mad and she is happy. I have to still get use to Phil's hair short, he looks good. But he looks older now. I wish that my babies would stay babies forever.Posted by Laura-Phillip at 5:41 PM

New Landscaping

Here are my pretty rose bushes only one has bloomed though. I love the yellow roses. Those guys were very good. They were quick and clean. For a while there I was scared. It was sure a mess but look how nice it is now.
This is where a tree is going. I am having 2 more fruit trees put up. An orange and another peach are going up. They are coming back tomorrow again in the morning to get it done.
Well here are the kiddies. This was taken on their first day of school here. Phil's hair is way longer and Des is black instead of light brown. I love these two, they make my life worth living everyday. They love each other for about 10 min. in a day, but he is very protective of her and will not let any of his friends get near her or say anything about her. He even watches what she wears to make sure it is not to short or show to much skin. These two are my greatest blessing.Posted by Laura-Phillip at 2:29 PM

Our New HOME !!!

Finally here is the pool. We love this thing. It is getting cleaned this weekend. They are going to drain it and fill it back up and get it all pretty and stuff. So this is what has been going on in our lives. I know that I have gotten a little behind, but I just barely got the computer unpacked and had the Internet installed. Thanks Alexis for getting me on the ball. I am going to be doing a little better at keeping up at least once a week or so.Posted by Laura-Phillip at 2:54 PM

From to Cub Scout to Boy Scout
Well it is official. My baby is no longer a Cub Scout. On Wednesday he received his Boy Scout badge. Though he has not yet received his Webelos or Arrow of Light. He did earn them, but the day they were to have the ceremony we had a BAD thunderstorm. So since we are moving they are have the ceremony on Wednesday for him so that way he can have them before we head on out to VEGAS!!!!!
I feel bad, on Wednesday I took my camera and I was all set to have wonderful pictures. But my battery died on my friend as she was taking our picture. But have no fear on this Wednesday I will have a charged battery and be set for the other badges. The new Scout Master did not realize that I had a mothers keepsake necklace for the pins, so they bought me a new one. I am truly going to miss my new Ward. Phillip enjoys Boys Scouts and all the wonderful actives that they have done. I have assured him though that he will be back with all his old friends and enjoying it once again. I Would Like to Introduce.......
This is the newest member of our little family. My sister bought her for Phillip for his birthday. She is a Lionhead Rabbit. She is so cute and we love her. Phillip decided to name her Peaches cause she is so sweet and cute. We went to Petsmart to get her a cage, food and everything else. While there I saw this cute bag that is for small dogs but I am going to buy it so I can take her every where with me. We got this leash for her and I was walking her outside today when a guy saw me and had not seen her yet but her leash and said it was cute and came over to see what kind of dog I had, but to his surprise it was PEACHES. He stood there looking at me and wondering why was I walking a bunny. But I dont care about what anybody thinks she is so stinkin CUTE! Posted by Laura-Phillip at 6:04 PM

The Water Park
So I thought that I was being a good mother and taking my kiddies to the water park. I thought that they were tired of going to the pool and maybe wanted to try something different. Boy was I wrong. They may look like they were having fun, but we were only there for about 20 min. and I am being generous with the time. Phillip is trying to hold Desiree in the water, but she is having none of it.
Here the boy is all alone. I think that at this point Des is slowly wondering to where I am. Phillip did have a good time for a bit. I think that if they had some friends with them it might have been another story.
As you can see from the look that she is giving, she wants to be somewhere else. The water park is the same place that where we go walking. Phillip has on many occasions expressed how much he wanted to go to this park.
He let me take this one, but all the while saying can we hurry up and leave. By this time Des is already sitting with me.
So now I have learned my lesson and not taking upon myself to do something nice. We get in the car and I tell them that I was trying to do something different. They both said "Why couldn't you take to some place with a pool water park, this place is for babies".So now we are planning Phillip's 11th birthday party. We had thought about maybe renting a party boat and going out to Lake Travis, but the kid doesn't want it. I have tried explaining to him that these parties are for us and for us to invite our friends. He wasn't having any of it. But he did make up his mind and we are going to Fiesta Texas. They have both a water park and amusement park. I think some how that this is going to cost us more than the party boat....Posted by Laura-Phillip at 8:52 AM

My Music
I am so sorry about my music. They are having a problem with a couple of songs and unfortunately some of the songs are ones that I have. Some of them work, so just sit back, relax and listen to some music. Here is the thing, sometimes it plays all the music then it won't. Posted by Laura-Phillip at 8:04 AM

Desiree's 5th Grade Recognition
Well this one of the saddest days in my life. One of my babies is moving on to Middle School. Well actually both of them will be going on to Middle School, but one of them is home schooled(Phillip). We are so proud of Des, she was recognized for being a Eagle Pride student, student of the month and for being commended on her TASK test. I love her so much. I took this picture right before school. Her last day of Elementary. I did this thing where I would take the kids picture of their first day and last day. I have one of Nicole on her first day of her Senior year at Vegas High and one of Phillip at his first day at Goldfarb. We really miss those schools.
Here Des is getting her certificate from her teacher Ms. Guerra and principal Ms. Patterson. I know its blurry, Phillip was helping and taking some pictures.
Here are the principals of the two Middle Schools that the kids from Forest North go two. My babies are not going to either one. If we stay they will go to Leander ISD or if we go back to Harney Middle School.
I thought I would throw this picture in. I cried so much this day. We didn't think that we were going to make it. I am so proud of this girl. She is my baby. She did two years of High School in one year. Nicole was the first one of our kids to graduate and now I look forward to Phillip and Des graduating. I know that will be even harder, knowing that they are all gone and I have to be home alone with Chris.(Just kidding)I felt bad for Phil as we got to the school to watch Des and he saw some of his old friends. I asked him if he was ok with not having a graduation and being there with his old class and friends. He turned and looked at me so serious and said "I don't care about any of those things, I learned more at being home and I was away from HER(Ms. McKenzie)". Even so, I decided that he would get a little celebration of his own. He has to do a little more work, since he came into home schooling a little late. He will be done at the end of June. He is doing so much better. I know that next year may be a little difficult and some getting use to but he is ready to go.

Just Add WATER!!!!!!!!!
Just add water.. Who ever made that up is a genius. This package is the best thing ever made. You just add water and knead the dough and roll the tortillas out. It has the directions on the back and no more guessing how much water, salt, shortening, and baking powder. I love this stuff. I could never find it in Vegas. I remember Rose(mother) having a big tub of this stuff. She made me learn how to make them when I was 16, saying that one day I will marry a Hispanic and he will want home made tortillas. And I still regret the day I ever told Chris that I knew how to make them. But with this stuff I don't mind making them.
Here are some that are rolled up and rolled out. I love my rolling pin. It is kinda like a granite kind I love it.
Here are some more rolled out. I usually try to make about a dozen or so, that way we can have some for leftovers. But with Chris always stealing one, usually the first one and putting butter on it. So we are lucky if we have about 4 to 6 the next day.
Here is my rolling pin and towel where I put them when I'm done. I really need to get a warmer. Maybe I will get one when we go to San Antonio. I also need to pick up a griddle. Chris got me one for mother's day, but that thing is a pain trying to season it.
And finally the end result. Yes I know that my stove is dirty. Chris was making dinner and he usually gets everything dirty. He also feels that he must use all the pans. So if any of you want a package of this WONDERFUL stuff just let me know and on its way it will go.Posted by Laura-Phillip at 10:32 AM
